WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL

WITH FACTORY FARMING?

- A “factory farm” is an industrial facility that raises large numbers of animals such as pigs, chickens or cows in intensive confinement.

- Animals are kept in cages or crates, crowded together in windowless sheds or on barren feedlots.

- Factory farms produce around 1 trillion pounds of manure that pollute our air and water and release climate-warming emissions.
